LIFE 101 is a collection of 101 “life lessons” meant to enhance any young person’s life.  Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, there is something within these pages that will relate to you.

As an example, I’ll talk about the first lesson in this book.  The “plan” is to “stop blaming others for your shortcomings and failings in life.”  I think at some point in our life, we have all done this.  In fact, I spent a good part of my day yesterday acting as a fill-in mom for my friend’s son.  He’d been suspended from school for something I feel is pretty minor, only because he’s pulled other foolish acts before the school came down pretty hard on him.  Instead of putting the blame on himself, he chose to blame his divorced parents and then the teacher who caught him.  What he really needed was to sit down and look at his track record.

In each lesson, the author offers the “plan”, a “why should I do this”, and then a personal story sharing how it applied in her life.  This is followed by a look at how you can apply this rule to your own life.

LIFE 101 is geared towards the younger crowd--when we thought we knew it all, but quickly found out that we didn't!.  I think teenagers will gain a lot from this book, if they take the words to heart.
