Doctor Lily Monroe dreams of
winning the Iditarod sled race again. Having cared for her dying husband,
a man who lied to her more than once, she is determined to enter and win this
year. There is nothing standing in the way of her goals -- except for
Derek Wright.
Derek and Lily's husband were partners in a ranch. Now Lily holds the
interest in the ranch, and she fights her feelings for Derek. He is all
man; a gorgeous, mysterious man at that. He also is the one person who can
beat her in the Iditarod.
Shortly into the race, it becomes shockingly apparent that someone wants Lily
dead. Barely escaping a sniper, Derek fears someone is using Lily to get
to him. He has made plenty of enemies, but who would use an innocent woman
as a pawn in their deadly game?
Cherry Adair never fails to both thrill and chill her readers. Set in
Alaska, the combination of romance and fascinating Iditarod race are sure to
please readers looking for an unusual setting. It also becomes apparent
that Ms. Adair spent plenty of time researching the Iditarod race. Her
verbal portrait of the race is packed with realistic detail -- at times I could
feel the freezing air chilling my face.
ON THIN ICE is a must read. The romance, action and setting make for an
entertaining and unforgettable reading experience
