Finally, a book about losing weight that has nothing to do with fad diets. I've seen fad diets work and then I've seen them fail. The negative effects of losing and gaining weight can be deadly. Dr. Edward Abramson, former director of the Eating Disorders Center at Chico Community Hospital, starts at the one place everyone should start--your body. Instead of delving into the latest diet, Dr. Abramson starts at the beginning--by working on your body image. He offers three very simple explanations on what body intelligence entails: Eat Intelligently, meaning eat foods that are beneficial to your body in some manner. Create a realistic body image. Become comfortable with exercise. At the heart of Dr. Abramson's helpful guide are keys to figuring out what triggers your eating habits (physical hunger, external cues, or emotions) and then using that knowledge to enable change. BODY INTELLIGENCE gets right to the heart of changing yourself. It makes tremendous sense, yet doesn't force you into eating select items. Limitation is key, and balancing out your cravings with exercise. I think if we all think about that it makes sense. This is a great book for those who are sick of dieting. Don't miss the tidbits on satisfying your chocolate cravings! They are bound to please even the most determined chocoholic.
